WHAT IS DO - IN? |

“Do-in” means literally “the way inside.” (Do) the way (in) Yin the peace that is Inside Do–in is the Japanese name for a form of exercise that works on the meridian system specifically. Stretches, and breathing techniques, that revive and help energy and balance return to the body. Therefore health and vitality improve and mental and physical balance is restored. By doing stretches that are meridian specific, for e.g. if you look at the picture next to this text in the metal element (bottom right of the circle) this stretch is for the lungs and improves circulation of oxygen around the body and therefore improving general health. This form of exercise is done at low impact. By doing the exercises at this level the body has time to adjust and move at a very deep level and through the breathing techniques a level of fitness is reached very easily. Everyone does do-in in their own tempo there is no competition, anybody of any age is able to do this form of exercise. All you need is to be wear comfortable clothing and a bit of floor space. During the stretches and by focusing your attention inside you become, more aware of your body and your life energy, so doing can feel where blockages are and then by doing specific exercise you can release the blocked energy. If you can find 15 min. every day your health and general feeling of wellbeing will improve very quickly. You will be supple and more flexible, mentally and physically. Your general concentration will sustain and help handle daily situations better.
